frequently asked questions

how long does it last?

With proper care and use of our products as instructed by our therapist, eyeliner embroidery can last up to 3 years. Our aftercare products have been specially formulated to help extend the life of your results – so don’t skip out on them! Results may vary depending on an individual’s skin conditions.

does it hurt?

It would depend on your pain threshold but it is unlikely that the pain is intolerable. Eyeliner embroidery is done with minimum pain, as topical anesthetics (numbing cream) will be applied to minimise pain.

are there any after effects?

After treatment effects may vary with every individual. You might experience some slight swelling of the eyelids and tenderness for the first few days. Post-treatment, the colour of the eyeliner will appear more intense for the first 6 – 10 days then fade off for a more natural look.

is it safe?

Yes!

The needles used for the procedure are also sterile-packed and only for single-use to maximise hygiene and safety.

pre-procedure tips

Please do not wear any makeup or have any lash extensions on when you come in for the procedure.

post-procedure tips

One thing almost every patient has in common is the swelling they experience afterward. With a few simple steps, you can prevent or minimise the amount of swelling you experience to help you have the most successful outcome.

ice is your friend!

  • Swelling typically occurs in the first 24 - 48 hours after the procedure, so this is the most crucial time to use ice packs on your eyes.

  • This will help to reduce and eliminate swelling altogether. You should never use an ice pack in one area for more than 10 minutes at a time.

  • Before you apply the ice pack to your eyes, you should secure a moist towel around the pack to keep a barrier between your skin and the ice itself.

sleep slightly elevated

  • Rest is important after you have any type of procedure, including permanent eyeliner.

  • When you rest or go to bed for the night, try to elevate your head to minimise swelling.

  • Stack a few pillows behind your head and try to sleep in a semi-sitting up position s that you can reduce the amount of swelling you experience upon waking in the morning.

avoid contacts lenses or eye make-up

  • You should try to avoid anything encountering your eyes for a few days following the procedure.

  • This includes your contact lenses and any other eye make-up you might want to wear.

  • Instead, wear your glasses and avoid make-up for the first few days to avoid any type of irritation to the area.

take it easy

  • You will likely feel perfectly fine after your permanent eyeliner procedure; however, your body still needs to heal.

  • If you start doing too much right after the procedure, you could end up suffering from excessive swelling.

  • During the first few days following the procedure, try to take it easy. You can go about any light activities, but you should avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for the first few days to let everything calm down.
